Hi! Ashtree here.
Today was a good day, I went to the library, played Genshin with my friend and had coffee with my girlfriend.
At the library I did some work on my dissertation, I'm writing about disability in antiquity and today my research was focused on depictions of dwarfs in red-figure vases from ancient Greece, specifically the classical period. I always really like looking at material culture. For some reason, I was really scared of writing about material culture and only felt comfortable looking at literature. But luckily, I seem to have gotten over that fear. I think I saw it as more up to debate. I have to actually use my brain to decipher it, and there isn't always someone else's thoughts to fall back on.
I also got coffee and lunch with my girlfriend at this really nice coffee place nearby. I had a mocha and a vegan stack.
I played Genshin with my friend. We did our weekly BP stuff, it's a nice little tradition we have, and I always enjoy it. We Skyped while we played and chatted.
My girlfriend and I also had a big cleaning session this afternoon, so the flat is looking nice and tidy.
Oh and last night we went to see Nosferatu! It was sooooo good. Lily Rose Depp was really good in it; she was totally made for gothic horror. The aesthetics of the film were definitely its selling point, I suppose like most gothic horror films. There was this one scene where the main guy—Thomas, was walking on this snowy road with big dramatic trees lining it and wow. It was stunning.
Once again hoping the coding works properly, lol. Still getting used to it all. But yeah, bye bye!
